In addition, there is a glossary of terms that is included as well, which makes it easy to find the definition of something you might come across during your race.

What I like about this book is the fact that it is broken down into chapters that focus on various aspects of the marathon. As an example, there is a chapter focusing on the beginning of the race, the middle of the race, and the end of the race. It then dives into some details about how to pace yourself throughout the race and even has a chapter on what to do if you happen to lose your water bottle or another item that you might need on the road.

The authors are well aware of the challenges of the road race, and they understand the level of athlete that many first-time starters and intermediate distance runners have. They provide great tips for improving your stamina and endurance as well as the importance of having a good nutrition plan. If you are a first time starter or an intermediate or advanced distance runner there are plenty of good tips and advice in this book. The authors have done an excellent job of covering every aspect of marathons from the half marathon, triathlon, track and field, and the track and field competition. They give detailed explanations and examples as well as keeping the reader informed and prepared.

One thing that many people don't realize is the importance of having good support team and having the proper mental attitude when training for any event, especially running. It can be easy to get caught up in training and begin to focus on getting the results that you are looking for rather than worrying about the finish line or other things that should be taken care of prior to the race day. Having a quality book such as this one will help all aspiring distance runners to be prepared mentally and to know what to expect before the race begins.
